Five months ago, two very different bobtail lizards entered our care, and they couldn’t have been more opposite—like a mismatched pair of socks! Meet Sprout, the small but mighty bobtail, and Beetroot, who is, shall we say, *a bit more substantial.* Sprout came to us with a broken leg, looking for all the world like a tough little underdog with a can-do attitude. Beetroot, on the other hand, had taken a less adventurous route to our care by munching on something she really shouldn’t have—a bit of a gourmet gone wrong, if you will.
Despite their differences, these two formed a curious partnership during their recovery. Picture this: they’ve been spotted lounging together on the heat pad, with Beetroot on top and Sprout beneath, like the world’s weirdest (but cutest) bobtail sandwich. Who’s the bread and who’s the filling? We’ll let you decide!
Sprout’s leg is now as good as new—she may have been tiny, but she’s certainly tough! Beetroot, with her foodie misadventure behind her, is back to full health too, proving that even the most gluttonous lizard can bounce back from a bad meal.
Now, they’re just waiting for that perfect sunny day to be released back into the wild. In the meantime, we’re enjoying their quirky companionship as they continue to warm themselves on their heat pad, blissfully unaware of the sandwich jokes going on around them.
